D&A is proud to present the New Zealand Certificate in Fashion!
As one of only two schools approved to deliver this brand new qualification, our passionate and professional tutors will train you in a creative environment in a wide set of fashion skills and knowledge.
At the end of this 20 week course you’ll be able to work in areas such as design, styling, visual merchandising, pattern-making and basic garment construction, or you’ll be primed to start our New Zealand Diploma in Fashion (Level 5).
Course Content
Design Communication: learn all about fashion drawing and design development techniques, gain basic software and digital skills to create digital formats and hand drawn illustrations. Learn research and design development skills.
Fashion Communication: learn about the fashion industry both in New Zealand and internationally. Explore clothes, hair and makeup styling, fashion styling, photo shoots, visual merchandising and marketing within a fashion context.
Garment Technology: learn pattern-making, garment construction and textile knowledge across both women’s and men’s clothing, including how garments are made from designer’s workrooms to a larger scale manufacturing process.
Course Costs
- Tuition fees: $3,365.00
- Course related costs: $550-$750.00 plus a smartphone or tablet

You must
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have NCEA Level 2 or equivalent skills and knowledge
